BLUCHER joins the Ranks.

The Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess kitchen at RAF Marham, currently being rebuilt by Morgan Sindall, becomes the third Mess on the base to be supplied with Blucher drainage products. This follows supplying both the Officers' Mess kitchen and the Junior Ranks Mess in 2012. A broad range of Blucher products have been used across each build. These include bespoke kitchen channels, where in the Officers Mess kitchen and Junior Ranks Mess, particular care was required with the site measure to ensure they didn't disrupt the tile pattern. Floor drains and Europipe have also been supplied across all Mess'.
Stainless steel drainage has not only been utilised in the kitchens but also the food prep areas, servery, staff facilities and shower rooms.
The Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess kitchen is due to open in Autumn 2014 and will mean Blucher has supplied all of the Mess rebuilds at RAF Marham.

BLUCHER EuroPipe can be found in the concourse and walkway areas of the capitals only designer outlet and was selected due to its modern look which matched perfectly with the surrounding design and feel. It offers excellent whole life costs and is particularly suitable to public areas as it is highly durable. Polished BLUCHER EuroPipe can be supplied in a wide range of finishes from a simple brush grain to a mirror finish and, as the polished finish is applied to the drainage pipe by a mechanical process, it won’t peel or lose its lustre.

BLUCHER reduce product factory energy consumption by 30%

A proud BLÃœCHER production technology have been presented with a Watts Water Sustainability Award for Environmental Stewardship at a ceremony held at BLÃœCHER. The award was won for an energy saving project carried out at BLÃœCHER’s production facilities, which reduced energy consumption by 30% and emission of CO2 by 148 tons per year.
Replacement of the Ventilation System
We decided to upgrade the ventilation system for our production facilities in Vildbjerg, Denmark. The existing ventilation system needed major renovation, and because it consisted of several minor stand-alone parts added along with expansions of the production facilities, it did not operate as efficiently as desired.
In collaboration with external consultants, BLÃœCHER’s production technology team decided on a project with a new energy-efficient ventilation system. It permits recycling of heat from the exhaust air and the recovery of 95% of exhaust ventilation air, as compared to about 30% with the old system.
Better Workplace Environment and Fewer CO2 Emissions
BLÃœCHER’s employees benefit from the capacity of the new ventilation system, which at 70,000 m³ air per hour can renew the entire air volume in the factory 0.9 times per hour.
With the reduction of energy consumption by 30% and of CO2 emission by 148 tons per year, the new ventilation system significantly reduces the factories carbon footprint.

BLUCHER roof drain wins best product in show at Roofex 2013

Beating off competition from some of the major players in the roofing industry, BLUCHER have been awarded “best product in show 2013” for their stainless steel roof outlet. The BLUCHER roof drain was a big hit with the judging panel for Roofex 2013, who commented that the drain was both innovative and a unique addition to the roofing products market.

BLUCHER roof drains are manufactured from stainless steel and are a real lightweight low cost alternative to traditional plastic and other metallic rainwater outlets. They can also offer some significant advantages over the competition.

Discussing the product on the stand during Roofex,  several visitors liked the idea that when doing hot work on the roof they really wouldn't have to think about the drain itself as there is no painted finish or plastic involved which could burn and so installation would be easier, quicker and safer.  Another benefit picked up on during the show was their light weight  which is an important Health & Safety issue when working at height. Other benefits commented on by the experienced roofers who visited the stand were  that the drains are available complete with either pre-installed under felt, a simple ready to felt flange, or a bolt down single ply flange. The BLUCHER Roof outlets are offered with a variety of spigot lengths to cope with different  roof thicknesses, and are suitable for all types of  roof from cold to warm as well as being suitable for both siphonic and gravity systems.
